CELEBRITY BIRTHDAY

Twiggy turns 62 on Monday. Known mostly for her mod, androgynous look of the ’60s, the style icon was one of fashion’s first supermodels. She returned to fashion somewhat as a judge on America’s Next Top Model, but left in 2007. Also a singer, she is working on a new album of ballad covers due in November.

…………………

THIS WEEK

Mars entering Leo inflates energy and egos, and trine to Uranus in Aries, will lead to unexpected results. Stubborn assertion will lead to wacky disasters. Be bold, but adaptive and humble for best results.

…………………

VIRGO  Aug 23-Sep 22
Self-consciousness leads you to fashion disasters. Play with a new look where nobody except a trusted friend can to see it, just so you can be satisfied that it is indeed wrong for you.

LIBRA  Sep 23-Oct 22
Domestic victories make you cocky.  Better to offer an olive branch and build reconciliation. Don’t dread the cake with all those candles. Focus on accomplishments and goals.

SCORPIO  Oct 23-Nov 21
Count on your friends to help you get ahead. Keep your eyes open to colleagues who might double-cross you. Don’t worry: A rude surprise can prove a blessing in disguise.

SAGITTARIUS  Nov 22-Dec 20
Teamwork gets anything accomplished, so be attentive to those who can make or break your efforts. They’re inclined to support you, but they want credit and generally deserve it.

CAPRICORN  Dec 21-Jan 19
Focus on your career and getting ahead. You can focus on your goals with little interference. The boss is about to take notice and is likely to be very supportive. Just let your work speak for itself.

AQUARIUS  Jan 20-Feb 18
Connect with older, well-educated people. You can learn a lot and get a clearer idea of your direction in life. You can’t help but say the wrong thing to your partner, but you’ll be fine.

PISCES  Feb 19-Mar 19
Even sweet, affable chatter can get annoying. Staying between the extremes is your biggest challenge. Lean to the quiet side. Letting them wonder will arouse more interest in you.

ARIES  Mar 20-Apr 19
You want to have fun, but work demands time and energy. Getting boisterous upsets things and exposes resentments. It doesn’t matter if they’re jealous. Focus your energies productively.

TAURUS  Apr 20-May 20
Be as productive as possible while your discipline and drive are especially sharp. Worries about the future are distractions. Just stay the course; keep putting one foot in front of the other.

GEMINI  May 21-Jun 20
The coming social season puts you in greater demand. Fix up your home now to be ready for company then. Friends’ one-upmanship will throw you off your game. Ignore it.

CANCER  Jun 21-Jul 22
Social opportunities abound. You’re happier at home with your dearest and nearest, and some of your favorite recipes, but get out and develop connections. They’ll serve you well.

LEO  Jul 23-Aug 22
Your state of mind changes more than your finances, but you can relax. Your energy is cranking up and leads you into interesting adventures. Look for new ideas, not arguments!

How Come Nobody Is Thanking Ann Coulter For Getting GOProud To Ditch Gay Marriage Support?

We all know Ann Coulter has taken credit for convincing GOProud to lose an notion of a pro-marriage equality stance. "You're welcome America," she said on Hannity last night. But just like every other demographic she latches on to, Coulter is using gays as pawns in her war against liberals, who she continues to insist are obsessed with nothing but "destroy the family so that you have one loyalty, and that is to the state." See, "liberals don't care about blacks, they don't care about women, they don't care about gays." But hey, at least she didn't reserve the vitriol for the right: "Republican primary voters for some reason refuse to do any research before voting. They vote for the name of anyone they've ever heard before."

How Come Nobody Makes Homophobic Anti-Abortion Campaigns?

Billboards in Austin, Texas, are popping up that have been banned elsewhere. How come? Because they target African-Americans in their discouragement of abortions. The clearly racist outdoor media campaign has been spotted elsewhere, including Boston and Houston, and is actually an attack on Planned Parenthood, claiming, "The most dangerous place for some children is in the womb." The spots, from the pro-life group Heroic Media, point drivers to a website, where the claim is made Planted Parenthood wants to "stop the reproduction of the unfit," including black babies. Which makes me wonder: When's the last time an anti-abortion ad was created just for the gays? And while targeting gay men might be a waist of dollars (anyone willing to spend 0k just to have a kid probably isn't going to abort it), isn't it time pro-lifers stop discriminating against America's lesbians and start calling on them not to ditch their "oops" babies? Can I get a HYMEN?

Nobody Can Find The 2 Men Who Got Married Aboard a Virgin America Red Eye Flight

Last week some tweets claimed a Virgin America flight routed itself over Canadian airspace so a pilot could marry two homos. Except the flight's pilot says he's completely unaware of any wedding. And besides, for it to be legal a Canadian official would have to preside over the nuptials. Are we looking at a giant hoax?

Finnish Lutherans Approve Church Ceremonies For Gay Unions, So Long As Nobody Calls Them Marriages

Voting 73-30 on Friday to let churches hold prayer services for same-sex civil unions, the Synod of the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Church approved "blessing ceremonies" for The Gays, stopping short of letting anyone call these things marriages. "The decision accepts the human value of every person," says Archbishop Kari Mäkinen, who was glad to see the measure pass. "No type of insulting or denigrating attitude toward homosexual people is acceptable. But at the same time, this keeps marriage as a union between a man and a woman." (NB: In Finland, domestic partnerships have been legal since 2002, though Parliament is expected to take up gay marriage and adoption legislation next year.) But it was Wille Riekkinen, the bishop of Kuopio (pictured), who had the best commentary: "Let’s adjust our pacemakers, and show a bit of respect toward all people," he says, shooting down conservative opposition to recognizing gay marriages because the Bible supposedly says so. "Or should we not eat our Christmas ham this year? It is one of the things that are prohibited in the Fifth Book of Genesis."

With DoJ Almost Certainly Appealing DADT Ruling, Nobody Knows If Obama Thinks The Law Is Unconstitutional

image

Expect the Justice Department to appeal U.S. District Court Judge Virginia Philips's worldwide injunction of Don't Ask Don't Tell, if "senior administration officials" are to be believed. With 60 days to file an appeal Log Cabin Republicans v. United States of America, the government won't likely wait until the last minute, with an appeal filing coming as early as this week. As expected. But isn't President Obama all torn up about it?

Moscow’s Gays Held a Protest Rally And Nobody Got Arrested. Well, Except The Neo-Nazis

When Russian President Dmitry Medvedev fired Moscow's bigoted Mayor Yuri Luzhkov and replaced him with Vladimir Resin (pictured below), there was no guarantee the successor was going to be any friendlier to the gays. Especially when Resin told reporters that while "I treat everyone equally," in the case of a planned gay rights demonstration by recently detained activist Nikolai Alexeyev (pictured top), "I do not support this." And yet the rally came and went Friday, with Alexeyev leading about 10 people in protesting Swiss International Air Lines for its role in helping Russian authorities detain Alexeyev at Domodedovo airport last month.

How Come Nobody Is Buying Gold Lamé Obama Hoodies Anymore?

Merchants selling Obama tees, sweatshirts, and dinner plates — which is apparently a reasonable way to make a living — are reporting sluggish sales of their wares in recent months. Even after the election, and the inauguration, pins and buttons and perhaps even Obama panties were moving swiftly in 2009. Now? Not so much. In Washington D.C.'s Union Station, the souvenir shop Obama Store has closed — just one indicator the president is no good at sustaining jobs. (Haha, that was so mean.) But I'm guessing that if you looked at the sales data for LGBT-themed Obama merch, the revenue chart took a dive south even earlier.

How Come Nobody Gives Sally Kern Credit For Her Education Platform?

Sally Kern, the Republican Oklahoma state senator and warrior of homosexual terrorists, is facing off Nov. 2 against Brittany Novony, the transgender attorney who has a smidge less of a problem with queers. But can't everybody stop talking about the statement she made two years ago (which sooo wasn't gay bash-y) and focus on what she's going to do for school children. You know, besides letting them get taught about what Jarrett Barrios and his husband haven't been doing in the past year.
