BruceBruce is a 2-year-old beagle mix. He has a short, white coat with a black-and-brown mask on half of his face and a sprinkling of black freckles on his ears. Bruce is a happy guy who smiles a lot and stands on his back feet to clap his front paws together when he’s excited. He’s good with other dogs and just loves people.

Bruce and  many other great dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are available for adoption from the Dallas Animal Services Adoption Center, located at 1818 N. Westmoreland at I-30 on the northeast corner. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.; closed Mondays. The cost to adopt is $85 for dogs and $55 for cats and includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip and more. Pet of the week • 09.24.10

Bambi was transferred from a city shelter when no one came to claim her. She is a very friendly dog who has never met another dog or person she didn’t like. She gives great kisses and would sit happily next to you, glad to have the attention. She would also be a great running partner, if that is your thing! Bambi is white with little brown spots in several places on her head.

Noel
Noel

Noel is a happy girl who plays well with other dogs that she “approves” of — mostly males, and at least her size. Noel is a very obedient dog once she gets to know and trust you. She cannot wait to hang around you, and loves to lick your face. Noel is a 2-year-old hound/shepard mix that weighs 42 pounds fully grown.

Yasmin and her friends came to Operation Kindness after a large animal seizure. She is a 4-year-old White/Brindle Terrier mix. Yasmin is friendly; she has a wonderful disposition, and gets along great with other dogs. Yasmin is timid of people but she will make a great pet for someone that is willing to give her the time and attention that she deserves.

Nell is a beautiful 2 ½-year-old chocolate Chesapeake Bay/labrador retriever mix. She loves other dogs and cats, and has lived with small children. Nell is house trained and is a very calm loving dog. She would love to go for walks and would be a great family pet.
