Uh oh – Peter LaBarbera is posting dirty pictures again

crossposted on Holy Bullies and Headless Monsters

Your “friend and mine,” Peter LaBarbera has returned to the tactic that has made him a controversial laughing stock in pro and anti-lgbt circles.

He is back to posting risque pictures of Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco. Now while I won't repost the picture, I will post his explanation:

The cities with large homosexual populations, and which advertise themselves as “gay’ meccas, are the most perverse in the world. San Francisco is an example. Deviance begets deviance, pushing “tolerance” to preposterous extremes. Only the committed, and corrupted, social liberal sees this as acceptable. A couple of years ago when I and others went to observe Folsom and protest the public depravities, we were struck by how straight liberals came to accept these hideous “fairs” in the name of tolerance. One reporter, who told me she had been raised in a Christian home, acted as if we outsiders who were condemning the public lewdness were more suspect than the debauched behavior itself. (I doubt her mother would agree.) God does indeed give people over to a reprobate, depraved mind – and it is only through the inestimable grace of God that some men and women once lost in the twisted world of Gays Gone Wild (and its advocacy) leave it and return to sanity. — Peter LaBarbera, www.aftah.org

The photo below was taken by an Americans For Truth reporter who attended the annual Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco on Sunday, September 25, 2010. It confirms that public sex continues at the devent sex “fair” despite past pledges by fair organizers and the city to stop public nudity and open sex in the streets (following exposes by AFTAH and others in previous years). Children were photographed attending this event.

In the (redacted) center of the photo, a naked man is standing on the ground performing oral sex on another naked man, who is standing on the stage of a booth sponsored by ‘Steamworks,’ a local bathhouse (anonymous homosexual sex club). Behind him (at left), another barely-clad man grabs the genitals of a fellow “fair”-goer at Folsom

I can forgive LaBarbera for the inaccurate claim about what happens in cities with “large homosexual populations” and I won't be petty as to criticize the fact that he can't spell “deviant” (goodness knows he has used it a lot to describe the lgbt community) because I am “thrilled” that the “Porno Pete” side of his personality has returned.

For those who are not in the know, LaBarbera is famous (or infamous) for attending subcultural events like Folsom Street Fair, taking pictures of gay men in questionable activity (while making sure to ignore the heterosexuals engaging in the same activity) and posting them on his Americans for Truth webpage along with descriptions about what exactly the men were doing in the picture and at times, relating how long it took them to do said activity.

And even when the pictures show no risque activity at all, we can always count on Porno Pete to manipulate them to imply that they do, like he did in May during a tirade against Progressive Insurance for their pro-lgbt support.

He would like to think that what he does is an attack on Democrat Nancy Pelosi and the lgbt community at large. But his activity has been the subject of much criticism in religious right circles and derision in lgbt circles.

And it's beginning to remind me of some cheesy, but enjoyable television movie I recently saw. A prim and proper woman is possessed by an alternate personality which would force her to dress in black, seek out men, and kill them.

Oh come on. Can't you just see it? LaBarbera spends the entire year pretending to be an upstanding “pro-family” activist but every time Folsom Street Fair rolls around, the voices in his head start to talk to him. He tries hard to ignore them, but they become louder and louder until they overcome his will.

Under their spell, he enters a secret chamber in his house (paid for no doubt by his years of dubious “anti-gay activism) where in a closet is a complete leather outfit equipped with a secret camera and a pair of butt-less chaps.

He puts on the outfit and stares at himself in the full length mirror that sits in the middle of his secret chamber.

Peter LaBarbera, the proud “pro-family” activist is gone and in his place is Porno Pete, the radical, extreme anti-gay activist who takes no prisoners, but lots of pictures.

Someone cue the ominous soundtrack.

Still Waiting For Peter LaBarbera’s Follow-On Piece On “Obama-Care” And “Sex Change Operations”

Recently, Peter LaBarbera wrote a piece for his Americans For Truth About Homosexuality website, entitled New HRC Corporate Scorecard Demands Coverage of Transsexual ‘Sex-Change’ Operations. (I responded in the PHB piece More “Truth” On “Sex Change Operations”?)

Image: Peter LaBarbera; Link: 'Sometimes you feel like a nut..'In LaBarbera’s October 23, 2010 piece, he stated:

Next week: how the Obama administration is telling LGBT activists to lobby for “sex change” operations to be covered under “Obama-care.”

By my math, “next week” has pretty much come and gone; today (November 6, 2010) is the last day of “next week.”

But hey, LaBarbera’s piece on LGBT Activists, “Obama-care,” and “sex change operations”  would be better late than never, right?

If you’d still like to read that Americans For Truth About Homosexuality piece on how “the Obama administration is telling LGBT activists to lobby for ‘sex change’ operations to be covered under ‘Obama-care’,” you can go to the Americans For Truth About Homosexuality Contact Us webpage, and get the information on how to call its Executive Director, send the Executive Director email, or send the Executive Director snail mail.

Hey, I’m about darn sure Executive Director of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (and you knew that the Executive Director was Peter LaBarbera, right?) would like to hear how this delayed piece on LGBT Activists, “Obama-care,” and “sex change operations” is of interest to you, and you’re waiting with baited breath to read it.

I know I’m still waiting to read this upcoming piece — I’m sure the piece is going to be a hoot!

Peter LaBarbera: DADT Repeal Would Destroy Culture, Weapons

LaBarbera-751700.gif There's nothing more flamboyant and over-the-top than a right wing crusader. No, not even a drag queen.

With all their self-righteousness indignation, social conservatives provide us, the viewing public, with some real gems of what would otherwise be performance art. Take, for example, Peter LaBarbera, leader of the Americans for Truth.

He's just full of outrageous musings, like when he described San Francisco's Folsom Street Fair as "the most immoral and outrageous sexual behavior that ever disgraced the streets of any American city."

Few of LaBarbera's past hits, however, have been as entertaining as his theory about Don't Ask, Don't Tell's inevitable, yet slow-going, repeal.  According to LaBarbera, it's all part of a plot — and why wouldn't it be?

"America does not need a post-moral military, but it may be what we deserve," said LaBarbera this weekend while discussing lesbian Maj. Margaret Witt, whom the Air Force has been ordered to reinstate.

"The irony," LaBarbera concluded, "is that if President Obama and his determined 'queer' allies succeed in turning our Armed Forces into a driving force for immorality, it will only hasten the deterioration of our culture to the point, ultimately, where weapons and soldiers cannot save us from oblivion. If America rejects God, her prospects are dim."

While my years on the LGBT beat have trained my brain to translate most of the right wing's queer codes, I'm still a bit stumped as to how weapons would help "save" a culture from the homosexual scourge.

Unless, of course, LaBarbera means to use the weapons on us. If that's the case, his theory puts gay rights on the same monstrous level as Godzilla. And that's the truth.

Ken Mehlman, Peter Thiel, and Paul Singer Host Manhattan Fundraiser for Team Challenging Proposition 8

Guestblogger COREY JOHNSON

Tonight I attended a highly anticipated fundraiser for the American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) in New York City at the Mandarin Oriental in the Time Warner Center. The fundraiser was co-chaired by former Republican National Committee Chair Ken Mehlman, Paypal Co-Founder Peter Thiel and Elliott Management hedge fund CEO Paul Singer.

Mehlman The fundraiser was initially supposed to be held at Singer's home but had to be moved to accommodate a crowd of over 120 people. It was announced by Mehlman that more than 1.2 million dollars was raised tonight. The energy in the room was hopeful, enthusiastic and celebratory even in the face of yesterday's setback on Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

The crowd was a diverse mix of Wall Street titans, Republican establishment figures, LGBT community advocates and politicos (partial list below after the jump). Barbara Bush, President George W. Bush's daughter attended the event — which was a surprise to people in the room.

Mehlman opened the event by speaking about the importance of achieving marriage equality and explained how he came to be involved with AFER. He acknowledged and thanked people who helped raise money for the fundraiser and also different members of the LGBT community. Mehlman said that this is just the beginning of his involvement and that he regretted that he hadn't gotten to this place sooner.

Said Mehlman: "As someone who regrets very much not being involved, and not being on the right side of this important effort until recently, let me just say this. This will be my first but not my last event and I hope you will stay involved too."

Aferinvite Mehlman introduced Peter Thiel, a gay conservative who is hosting an event for GOProud at his New York home this fall. Thiel was brief and spoke about how marriage equality should not be a partisan issue.

Mehlman then introduced Paul Singer, a titan in finance and former Chair of the Giuliani for President Campaign in 2008. Singer gave a very moving speech about why equality for gay and lesbian people mattered so much to him. He spoke about his openly gay son and his son-in-law and how personal the issue was to him. He received a loud, standing ovation after his remarks.

A video was played that showed all of the media coverage from the very beginning of the Proposition 8 lawsuit, chronicling all of the events leading up to Chief Judge Vaughn Walker's decision declaring Proposition 8 unconsitutional. The video was inspirational and uplifting, serving as a crescendo to the introduction of Ted Olson and Chad Griffin.

AFER_panel CNN's Campbell Brown then came on stage with Olson, one of the lead attorneys' in the case, along with Griffin, the President and Founder of AFER. Brown interviewed Olson and Griffin on topics ranging from how they came to meet each other, what the next steps are in the appeal process, whether or not Olson was optimistic about the outcome and how this case fit into past marriage decision at the Supreme Court.

Olson's clear and unvarnished optimism was outwardly apparent in all of his remarks and answers to questions from Brown and also from the audience.

OlsonOlson said that he was confident with the case, plaintiffs, witnesses and evidence that opponents of Proposition 8 provided during the trial last January and that he believes that the case will ultimately land at the Supreme Court of the United States with a successful result.

Chad Griffin said this about tonight's fundraiser: "Tonight represented much more than .2 million to fight Proposition 8 in the 9th Circuit and the Supreme Court. This unprecedented gathering of bipartisan political leaders and Wall Street titans demonstrates the shift of momentum that's possible when it becomes clear that marriage equality isn't a special interest issue, but rather one of fundamental American values. That has been the focus of the American Foundation for Equal Rights, and while there is certainly a tremendous amount of work to be done, it is gratifying to see such progress."

After a difficult and painful day in the United States Senate yesterday, the palpable optimism at the fundraiser was unmistakable and welcome for the attendees.

The AFA and The Peter go off the rails over Mehlman and GOP ‘secret homosexuals’

Join the pity party with Joe Farah at WorldNetDaily boys! One News Now’s Chad Groening composes what has to be one of the most hilarious keyboard protection first grafs ever.

A pro-family activist who is working to expose the truth about homosexuality finds it absolutely appalling that former Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman Ken Mehlman was able to “beat back” Republican efforts against homosexual “marriage” while hiding his own homosexual lifestyle.

He’s talking about Peter LaBarbera of course. And The Peter doesn’t disappoint:

“The most troubling thing about Mehlman is that he reveals in his interview with The Atlantic magazine that he was subverting the fight to preserve marriage as the head of the RNC,” notes Peter LaBarbera, founder and president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH). “He admits that he was working in private conversations with senior GOP leaders against the federal marriage amendment.”

LaBarbera adds that he cannot understand why current RNC chairman Michael Steele has been so accepting of Mehlman’s lifestyle. “There are so many great stories of people who left lesbianism, who left homosexuality,” he points out. “We should not accept that this homosexuality is part of Ken Mehlman’s identity. And shame on Michael Steele for [almost] celebrating Ken Mehlman’s homosexuality.”

And in a moment of revelation and admiration for the work of Mike Rogers, LaBarbera calls for outing “secret homosexuals” in order to cleanse the GOP of “homosexual activism.”

And the hat tip goes to former AFA staff attorney Joe Murray. 🙂

Anglicans Fail to Scare Away Arts Festival Attendees With Tales of Peter Tatchell Abusing Their Kids

The 36-year-old annual arts festival Greenbelt, held in each year in England, regularly attracts popular Christian and mainstream music acts. Oh, and The Gays. This year it's activist Peter Tatchell, who will give a talk. Last year it was American Bishop V. Gene Robinson. All of which means the Anglican Mainstream, the Church of England's conservative cheerleading section, wasted breath demanding good Christians boycott the festival, because ew, gays! But for this weekend's event, the Anglicans are being ignored, and Greenbelt activists aren't caving to their demands; Tatchell remains on the docket. All this, despite the Anglican Mainstream's Dr. Lisa Nolland warning religious types that by inviting Tatchell, Greenbelt put child attendees at risk of sexual abuse. The scandal has paid off: Ticket sales this year have increased.

The Peter soils himself over another conservative defection on marriage equality

It’s not just Joseph Farah having a cow. Of course Peter LaBarbera has to get into the game, so that everyone involved can take a step back from TEH CRAZEE. Peter owns it all by himself. Take his reaction to The View’s Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s statement that she supports marriage equality and is open to viewing reproductive freedom choices. Excuse the spittle The Peter is projecting all over your screen. He cannot even spell her name correctly. It’s EliSabeth, Peter.

Et tu, Elizabeth? The View’s Hasselbeck Joins Pro-Gay-‘Marriage’ Sellouts

Hasselbeck joins growing list of conservatives who lack courage to defend truth on homosexuality

If poor Elizabeth Hasselbeck of ABC’s The View knows that life begins at conception yet can’t understand the urgency of government protecting that life (unborn babies) in the womb – then it’s hardly surprising that she is confused about homosexual “marriage.”

Memo to Hasselbeck: the unborn baby is a human being with his or her own separate DNA, not some mere appendage. Regarding marriage: America’s moral slide and several decades of homosexualist organizing – and perhaps the likelihood that you sympathize with your “gay” friends and acquaintances – do not erase the timeless truth of the Book of Genesis.

I can deal with the “queer” activists, whose fanatical dedication to rationalizing their own sin problem is what you’d expect from a movement that “proudly” rejects normalcy and shakes its collective fist at God and His natural, created order. What confounds me are the “conserv-a-libs” (Ryan Sorba calls them “liberal-tarians”) – who so readily ditch five millennia of biblically-informed truth for the latest sexual/social fad.

George Will, Laura Schlessinger, Ann Coulter, Glenn Beck, Kathleen Parker, Mike Gallagher, Michael Barone (talk about poll-driven morality!), Bill O’Reilly, Elizabeth Hasselbeck – each of these conservatives has made some homosexuality-related cave-in, some more serious than others. And, of course, every defection has earned the plaudits of media liberals and LGBT activists alike.

Perhaps because it’s guaranteed to resonate so loudly within the liberal-secular media-libertarian echo chamber, selliing out on homosexuality has become the modern capitulation of choice for “conservatives” who lack the courage to defend politically incorrect truths. (After all, being “pro-choice” on abortion is so ’90s.) Then there are those who have bought the libertarian lie that unchecked individualism trumps ordered freedom and fealty to our Creator.
