Brittany Novotny fires back at Sally Kern

Brittany Novotny, the transgender candidate who’s challenging anti-gay Republican State Rep. Sally Kern in Oklahoma, has issued a statement responding to an attack last week from a Kern supporter who called Novotny a “confused it.” In the statement titled “How do we move Oklahoma forward?” Novotny notes that Kern issued a statement Sunday attempting to distance herself from the attack:

In a statement released today, Rep. Kern claims that she has “repeatedly asked [her] supporters not to use any degrading or insulting comments toward [me].” Unfortunately, the evidence indicates this is not the case. In a speech on August 7, 2010, Rep. Kern told supporters:

“And this year, in 2010 election, I have a very interesting race, I have an individual who was born a man, has had a sex change operation, and now considers themselves to be a woman. So, if you live in my district or know anyone who does, please get the word out. Because if I say anything about it, it’s gonna look like I’m smearing, and I’m not, it’s just a fact. And ‘they’ talk about it themselves. (Emphasis added).”

Does this rhetoric sound like someone asking her supporters not to use any degrading comments? Does this rhetoric sound like someone who is trying to keep the campaign about the issues facing Oklahomans?

When I announced my intention to run for this seat, Rep. Kern said she planned to keep this campaign focused on issues. As you are now aware, she has failed to keep her word on that count.

Novotny also posted the above video ad, accusing Kern of ignoring real issues to promote “her narrow social agenda” and “her own extremist interpretation of the Bible.” Ya think?

How Come Nobody Gives Sally Kern Credit For Her Education Platform?

Sally Kern, the Republican Oklahoma state senator and warrior of homosexual terrorists, is facing off Nov. 2 against Brittany Novony, the transgender attorney who has a smidge less of a problem with queers. But can't everybody stop talking about the statement she made two years ago (which sooo wasn't gay bash-y) and focus on what she's going to do for school children. You know, besides letting them get taught about what Jarrett Barrios and his husband haven't been doing in the past year.

Homobigot Sally Kern revives her ‘gays worse than terrorism’ zombie meme

The homo-hating, illegal pistol-packing bigot Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern (sallykern@okhouse.gov) is back and Evan Hurst of Truth Wins Out points us to this report –

Sally Kern made her infamous statement about homosexuality being worse than terrorism over two years ago. Now she is trying to explain what she meant! It’s not a matter of quality, but a matter of quantity, you see:
When you mention the name Sally Kern, most people think of the now-infamous speech she gave two years ago, declaring homosexuals more dangerous to America than terrorists. But that is the first of many misconceptions Kern says she wants to clear up.

“Here in America we’ve had what maybe three known real big terrorist attacks on our nation,” Kern said. “But every day our young people especially, all of us, but our young people especially are in a sense bombarded with the message that homosexuality is normal and natural.”

You can see video of Kern (and and her trans political opponent Brittany Novotny) here, as FOX 25 profiles the race for State House seat 84.

Sally (Kern) rides again

You remember Sally Kern, right? She’s the Republican Oklahoma state representative who in 2008 became famous when an audio clip hit the Internet of her telling other Republicans that gays and lesbians are a bigger threat to America than terrorism.

Homosexuality, she warned back then, “is deadly, and it’s spreading, and it will destroy our young people.”

When the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund made her warnings public, Kern became more famous than she had probably ever expected to be. But not famous in the way she wanted, I am sure.

Well, guess what. Sally rides again. There’s more brilliant speechifying from her out on the Internet, this time as part of a campiagn ad for Brittany Novotny, the transgender attorney from Oklahoma City who is running against Kern this year for the District 84 seat in the Oklahoma House of Representatives,

I am posting Novotny’s campaign ad below, but here’s the punch line, an audio clip of Kern speaking on Aug. 7 — a little over  week ago — and explaining her comments from 2008. She says:

“I was talking to a group of Republican activists, telling them about a group of homosexual millionaires who for years have been working secretly to change the society of America, the political society of, America, so there will be freedom and equality for everyone.”

No, Sally! Really?! Freedom and equality for everyone?! Oh, the horror of it all! We are so lucky to have people like Sally Kern out there fighting that terrifying demonic specter of freedom and equality for everyone.

Think I’m making it up? Then just listen for yourself.
