Happy Mother's Day, Sarah Bettens! You rock!
In honor of all the queer moms, we took a quick peek at a few lesbian musicians who juggle their time between their kiddos and their fans. From folk to rock and everything in between, the list of lesbian musician moms is a long one, so I kept it short and sweet.

I was sad to have missed Sarah Bettens’ intimate concert at 1727 two Fridays ago. With the small venue, I imagined it would have been something to experience Bettens up close. But I am glad someone caught some of the show on video and I love that Bettens’ covered Michael Jackson’s “Shes Out of My Life.”
Touring in support of her latest release, Never Say Goodbye, lesbian musician Sarah Bettens returns to Dallas this February. But not to your typical venue. 1727 is an intimate art gallery and listening lounge that is gonna put you up close and personal with Ms. Bettens.
Although they are calling the show a CD release party, Goodbye came out last September. But I’d recommend checking it out to get a sampling of Bettens’ work. It’s an unusual compilation of covers, new songs, past solo work and a great live version of “Not an Addict,” her hit with K’s Choice. Seriously, I could listen to that song over and over. She sings the song in the above video from her show at the Granada in 2008.
