‘The Skinny’ books one-week run at Magnolia

Patrik-Ian Polk knows something about getting his way. He made the first gay black comedy (Punks) and the first gay black Sex and the City rip-off (Noah’s Arc), so getting his new indie film The Skinny — dealing, you guessed it, with black gay characters — meant nothing more than renting a screening room at Landmark’s Magnolia  Theatre for a one-week engagement. The plot sounds Big Chill-esque, as five gay college pals reunite for a weekend in NYC, and secrets are revealed.

Through April 26 at the Magnolia.
