Bruce – you condemn people who hate a whole class of people just for being gay and yet you post a hateful statement about a whole class of people, who you’ve never met. You say we use the Bible to preach hate, and yet you use the internet for the same purpose. I am from Texas and a member of the Democratic party. Some of my best friends (and neighbors down the street) are a married gay couple who had to travel out of state to be able to be married. The vast majority of people here believe in equality, and are heartbroken that a long time couple with more years together and love in their family than alot of straight couples I’ve met, are so grossly discriminated against. I’m guessing you’ve never even been to Texas or you would realize that Rick Perry (and his hair) have been a punch line in this state a long time, way before the rest of the country figured it out.

Read Glen Maxey’s book. Whether the rumors of Perry’s homosexual affairs are true or not (and I suspect they are) there is certainly seems to be enough smoke to scare away the Christian Right. I also know conservative Republicans in Iowa who are outraged by Perry’s TV ad.

Rick Perry’s “Strong” ad is shameful, and he richly deserves all the negative blowback he is receiving. How dare he throw the brave and hard working gays in th military — who fight everyday to protect his freedom — under the bus ? This ad is in my opinion a fatal miscalculation, a telling indicator of Mr. Perry’s depravity, hypocrisy and inhumanity. Certainly not the traits we look for in a president.
