Alisa Lee, director of the Texas Siamese Rescue in Corinth, sends word that the rescue was recently burglarized and money was stolen.

Lee runs the rescue with her partner, and the two have helped raise money to pay off debt from the previous rescue owner for the past two years. She said the theft has now jeopardized the rescue again.

She and her partner recently left to pick up some supplies. When they returned to the facility, they discovered that one of the inside doors was broken and the money was gone.

They filed a police report and some of their supporters are offering a reward for any information that will lead to an arrest and conviction for the person responsible.  The money that was taken goes toward the facility’s utilities, food, litter and medical supplies.

“We have done everything in our power to make this work and we are falling short,” Lee said. “We need [the community’s] help in order for us to continue to save lives. We have rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed 7,509 cats. We pray that we can continue this dream of saving lives.”

Lee said the rescue currently houses 86 cats and has 28 kittens that need medical attention, in addition to older cats that need supportive care medications.  She added that the rescue is in desperate need for dry food without color dyes and litter just to make it through this month.

“If anyone would like to assist us with these needs it will make a huge difference to the cats in our care,” Lee said. “We need the community’s support to make this work.”

Online donations can be made here and checks can be mailed to 1123 N. Corinth St., Corinth, TX 76208. People can also add the rescue to the community rewards program on their Krogers card. The rescue’s ID number is 91135 and it can be added to cards here.
