On Wednesday, the Round-Up Saloon was replete with curves only seen on Jessica Rabbit and eyebrows plucked to oblivion. It was the second preliminary night of the Miss Gay USofA pageant, and Cedar Springs was swarmed with backup dancers, drag dignitaries and Dallasites who know that the pageant is Dallas’ hottest springtime show — especially the talent portions.

Before the contestants showed their stuff, esteemed titleholders performed. Dallas’ Asia O’Hara, Miss USofA 2007, was a flurry of fringe and whiplash inducing moves before her abrupt, collapse-like-a-corpse finale.

But this year’s contestants are hungry for the USofA tiara.

Georgia competitor Stasha Sanchez and her six backup dancers were on point with her "Rock with U" homage to Janet Jackson.

Missouri contestant Ashley Tyler turned out a hilarious mashup of Kathy Bates’ psycho killer Annie Wilkes from "Misery."

And Bianca Nicole’s hair-frenzied salute to Beyonce was dazzling.
