katie-and-meA new study from University of Texas at Arlington attempts to learn why straight women develop close relationships with gay man.

The answer is just what we expected. Straight men are after sex with women. Other women are seen as competition. Gay men have no ulterior motive, give straight women good dating advice and can be brutally, but constructively honest about their appearance.

The study found women are even more likely to befriend gay men when they’re in a highly competitive dating environment.

While the study is all over the news today, in medical publications, on TV reports in India, in business newspapers and elsewhere, Dallas Voice ran this as a cover story a month and a half ago.
