Doug Dodasovich and Mark Oram were married Dec. 22 in Toronto, Canada and followed the wedding with a honeymoon in New York. The two met at a spiritual retreat 15 years ago and, after three days, they knew they were meant to be together. They waited a week to start dating and have been together ever since. Oram is a gay Realtor in Dallas, and Dodasovich is a graphic/media artist and marketing professional who currently serves as the director of a Dallas ad agency. In their spare time, they enjoy reading, watching movies, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and playing with their mini-dachshunds, Roxie Hart and Seymour Krelborn. They both love the theater and frequent stages from Dallas and Fort Worth to New York and London. Dodasovich proposed to Mark by singing "I’ll Cover You" from "Rent" in front of 20-plus close friends in September. The couple say they are very conscious of the fact that they are getting married at a pivotal moment in the same-sex marriage movement. In lieu of gifts, they ask their friends and family to honor their commitment to each other by donating to the HRC and helping to promote marriage equality in all 50 states.
