Inaugural Otter Weekend celebrates the fit and furriest

Dallas Bears have TBRU and Dallas leathermen (and women) have ILSb, but what of the lonely, orphan otter — hirsute but smaller gay men, who bridge the gap between bear and twink? Well, now they have Otter Weekend, the inaugural activity for the smaller-framed hairy man. It all kicks off Aug. 10 at Woody’s, with a Mr. Otter contest, and includes a pool party and other activities over the weekend.

Now is your chance to see the show, which is subtitled A Good Old-Fashioned LGBTQ Comedy Romance Murder Mystery. Anyone under 18 is admitted free, and adult tickets are only $10. I swear! ‘Hand to God’ opens in Addison

A young, devout man, suffering the loss of a parent, seeking comfort in a Christian puppet ministry in Cypress, Texas. Only the puppet seems to have a mind — and a spirit — of its own. Hand to God was the irreverent hit of the 2015 Broadway season, scoring five Tony Award nominations, including best play. WaterTower artistic director Joanie Schultz will direct this Bible Belt comedy about faith and a lot more

DEETS:
Addison Theatre Centre,
15650 Addison Road. In previews through Aug. 5.
