Collin County gay alliance publishes voters’ guide for May elections
In an effort to better educate and inform the community about where candidates stand on LGBT issues, the Collin County Gay and Lesbian Alliance has published its annual voters’ guide for the upcoming May elections.
The CCGLA voters’ guide covers key municipal and school board elections in Collin County. Early voting for the May 12 election begins April 30. Sample ballots, early Collin County voting locations and the CCGLA voters’ guide can be found online at www.ccgla.org.

Trinity Presbyterian planning concert to help replace AIDS agency’s wrecked van
The Turtle Creek Chorale Chamber Chorus, the Women’s Chorus of Dallas, the Oak Lawn United Methodist Church Chancel Choir and the Trinity Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir will all perform Sunday, April 29 in a special concert to raise funds to help replace the AIDS Interfaith Network’s wheelchair-accessible van that was damaged recently in an accident.
The concert, titled “Turtles and More at Trinity,” will be held at 3 p.m. at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 901 N. Zang Blvd.

Area restaurants to participate in dining event benefiting Operation Kindness
Six local restaurants will participate in “Bone Appetit,” a unique dining event benefiting Operation Kindness, on Thursday, May 3.
The restaurants Angry Dog, Angelo’s Italian Grill, Fuse, Lavendou Bistro Provencal, Terilli’s and Urban Bistro are donating at least 25 percent of each patron’s total bill during lunch or dinner to the no-kill animal shelter.
The event coincides with the nationwide Pet Adoptathon on the weekend of May 4-6, and Be Kind to Animals Week, which starts the May 6. Pascal Cayet of Lavendou Bistro Provencal is honorary chair of the event.
Four of the restaurants are participating in Bone Appetit at both lunch and dinner. They are Angry Dog in Deep Ellum at 2726 Commerce, Angelo’s Italian Grill at 6341 LaVista in Lakewood, Lavendou Bistro Provencal in Far North Dallas at 19009 Preston Road, and Urban Bistro at 7709 Inwood Road near Lovers Lane.
Terilli’s Restaurant and Bar at 2815 Lower Greenville is participating at lunch, and Fuse Restaurant at 1512 Commerce St. in Downtown Dallas is participating at dinner.
Angry Dog will donate 50 percent of each diner’s total bill to Operation Kindness.
The other five restaurants are donating 25 percent.
