Dwayne Kidd, 44, died Feb. 9 at his parents’ home in Gainsville.

Kidd was a native of Gainsville and had lived in the Dallas area for many years. He had recently retired from retail work in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He had worked retail jobs in Dallas for the previous 15 years. He was an artist, and he loved to garden and to cook.

Kidd was preceded in death by his partners, T.J. Johnson and Richard Rodriguez.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Linda Kidd of Gainsville; his grandmother, Betty Lounette Kidd of Gainsville; and his sister, Shawna Kidd of Lewisville.
