UPDATE: ARREST MADE

Dallas police have arrested Dralon Patterson, 34, and charged him with aggravated sexual assault in connection with this attack.

Dallas police are searching for the man who sexually assaulted a woman around midnight Thursday night, Jan. 31, in a parking garage in the 2700 block of Howell Street, near Uptown.

Police said the woman was walking from her vehicle to the elevator in the lower level of the parking garage at her apartment complex when, as she neared the elevator, the suspect walked toward her down a nearby ramp. The two exchanged greetings as the passed each other, but then the woman heard the man behind her and when she turned around, the suspect showed her a weapon. He then forced the woman back to her vehicle where he sexually assaulted her. He then fled on foot, taking some of the woman’s belongings with him.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 30 years old, standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall and with a medium build. At the time of the assault, he was wearing a gray do-rag, a dark T-shirt, a light-colored jacket and gray sweat pants. He was also described as unshaven and wearing older tennis shoes.

Police investigators are looking for surveillance video and potential witnesses, and have asked that anyone with information contact Det. Holmes at 214-671-3637. The case number is 021345-2019.
