Last year, Tom Sime — the gay former theater critic for the Dallas Morning News and managing director of Contemporary Theatre of Dallas —  packed up his belongings and headed for New York City. Sime followed a kind of reverse bohemian arc of getting older and then living the life of the starving artist, by mounting his original plays in the City That Never Sleeps.

We don’t know how well he’s eating, but the tide is high for him right now, we’re betting: Deborah Harry, she of Blondie fame, is starring in a weekly reading of his new play “Nancy and Nicole” at the Bleecker Street Theatre in the East Village, where Sime is writer-in-residence. The play will be performed Mondays from Feb. 9 to March 30.
