If you’ve never seen a Glambert up close, prepare yourself, because you’re about to

One of the more popular categories in the O Music Awards (that’s what they say anyway)¬† is the Fan Army FTW award. Erstwhile fan “clubs” are now “armies,” and the enthusiastic devotees of Taylor Swift, One Direction and 30 Seconds to Mars (really?) are among the nominees. Of course, you know the Glamberts are in for the win. Adam Lambert fans come together in this video pitch to campaign for votes. From young to old, straight to gay and everything in between, the gay singer’s appeal is far more reaching than I would have ever imagined.

While the O Awards may not hold the merit of the Grammys, they have been consistent in giving nods to musicians’ ¬†forays into the digital realm, but with irreverent fun. Awards include Best Artist with a Cameraphone and Hottest Music NILF. And anyone can vote! Just don’t be surprised if some Glamberts try to convert you while they ask for your vote.

Watch the Glamberts hype up their favorite singer and the impact he’s had on their lives after the jump. It’s actually kinda sweet.

Listen: Adam Lambert’s “Never Close Our Eyes”

As if to tease his fans more, Lambert releases another single as they wait for his second album Trespassing to come out which was pushed to May. I think this single, “Never Close Our Eyes,” is a really good song with its electronica foundation but Lambert’s delivery commands a rocker’s edge. And his voice here has a beautiful grit to it that I never quite felt before. This should definitely amp up the anticipation for his legions of Glamberts.

Listen here.

LISTEN: Lambert’s “Better Than I Know Myself”

Although Adam Lambert isn’t releasing his new album Trespassing until early 2012, he’s getting us ready with his first single, “Better Than I Know Myself,” that digitally dropped today.

The track mixes some hard edge with some radio pop sensibilities, but its a good listen and there’s a maturity here that means he’s growing. We’ll have to wait and see how the rest of the album sounds.

Trespassing is set for a March 20 release.

But now, he’s scheduled to play the Palladium Ballroom Sept. 7. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. The site lists the price at $39.50.
