RVA 2019 WINNERS

SHOW

Best Local Singer (Female)

Laura Carrizales

Laura Carrizales has had quite a year. Along with her singing/life partner Mel Arizpe, she attended the World Karaoke Championship in Helsinki, and finished in the top three. In. The. World. And now, Carrizales individually, and Mi Diva Loca as a group, landed in the tops as readers’ favorite band and female singer. That’s something to sing about.

Best Dance Troupe/Event

Texas Ballet Theater

We love the arts, we love dance, and we love the fact that readers reached out to Fort Worth-based Texas Ballet Theater to pick their No. 1 dance company this year. Of course, TBT has reached out to readers, as well, staging many of their performances both at Bass Hall and here at the Winspear Opera House, meaning no troupe does a better job of giving all of North Texas a chance to enjoy the magic of dance.
